- Work income you can keep: $200/month (one adult) or $300 (two adults). Above that, your benefit drops dollar-for-dollar, but the supplement adds back 25% of the extra amount.
Example: A single adult with severe health constraints gets $1,318/month. If she earns $360 in a month, her benefit drops by the $160 above the $200 exemption. The work supplement adds back $40. Her RAMQ drug-plan premium is $0 while she gets this help.
How it benefits you
- It is built for severe employment or health constraints (CSE/CSS). A medical report shows how your condition limits your independence, instead of asking you to look for work.
- Your benefit goes up automatically every January 1, following the tax-law indexation factor.
- The first $200/month of work income is exempt (not counted) for one adult ($300 for two). Above that, a work-income supplement adds back 25% of the extra amount.
- Last-resort-assistance status signs you up for the RAMQ (Quebec's health insurance plan) public drug plan at no cost — no premium. At the pharmacy, you show your claim booklet (carnet de réclamation — the booklet RAMQ gives you for covered drugs).
- The Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale (the Quebec ministry that runs income support) delivers the program under the Individual and Family Assistance Act. One application also checks whether you qualify for the Social Assistance Program.

Eligibility
- You are an adult (or an adult in a family) whose physical, mental, or psychosocial condition is significantly deficient. Severe health constraints stop you from gaining independence. A medical or psychosocial evaluation report must document this — form SR-2100, completed by an authorized professional.
- Your resources (income and assets) are within the limits for last-resort financial help.
- Some people are exempt from the SR-2100 report in exceptional cases (for example, certain mental-health situations).
- If you have severe employment constraints but can still work toward a job, the ministry assesses which program fits your situation: solidarité sociale (the Social Solidarity Program), aide sociale (the Social Assistance Program), or Objectif emploi (a work-focused program).
How to apply
- Apply online through My Workspace Assistance (Mon dossier aide financière — your online account for financial help). You can also apply by mail or at a Services Québec service point.
- Your authorized professional (a doctor, a specialized nurse practitioner, a psychologist, or similar) completes form SR-2100. The form documents your severe health constraints.
- The ministry reviews your financial situation and the medical report. It then decides your eligibility and your monthly amount.
- Once you are approved, show your claim booklet (carnet) and health-insurance card at the pharmacy. Your RAMQ public drug-plan coverage is free.
