For more than twenty years, Aimee has helped individuals and families find their way through Canada's health and social programs. She turns confusion into small, clear steps.
She has worked in many settings. These include hospital care — emergency, ICU, psychiatry, pediatrics, palliative, and rehab — as well as community health, public health, primary care teams, and private practice.
Her work is guided by the Social Determinants of Health and a trauma-informed, person-centred approach. She focuses on disability navigation, clear summaries clinicians can use, and plain-language coaching. Each person sets the pace.
She has also advised government on disability and access to care. She teaches social work practice to help new clinicians offer person-centred care.
Her work has earned awards for leadership and person-centred care.
Lived experience
Beyond her training, Aimee brings lived family experience. She is a mother of five — including two social workers and a mental-health advocate — and a parent to a daughter with Down syndrome and a son on the autism spectrum. That lived view keeps her work practical, kind, and rooted in real life.
Outside work, you will find Aimee with family — and Chai the German Shepherd — reading, or out in nature. She believes access to justice and care is a right. Her practice works to make systems easier to use, one person and one application at a time.

Doctors and other providers are very busy. Form T2201 Part B (the medical part of the CRA's Disability Tax Credit Certificate) and CPP-D medical reports ask for specific words about daily life. Short clinic notes do not always include that detail.
